Whereas Administration is currently conducting a review of the Procedural By-law; and Whereas citizens of Cornwall often pose questions to Members of Council that may be of interest to the general public which could easily be answered at a Council Meeting; and Whereas there is no section on the Agenda of a Regular Meetings of Council for Members of Council to ask general questions or to make community announcements; and Whereas Members of Council may be obliged to seek to suspend the Rules in order to make general statements about community events or ask general questions about the ongoing operations of the City. Now therefore be it resolved that Administration report on the feasibility of adding a Community Messages and General Inquiries section to the Agenda of a Regular Meeting of Council.
Moved by Dean Hollingsworth, seconded by Denis Sabourin

Whereas the City of Cornwall’s landfill site will eventually reach capacity and be forced to be closed; and Whereas the cost of closing an old landfill site and opening a new site is prohibitive; and Whereas diversion strategies may not be able to completely alleviate the landfill capacity issue; and Whereas incinerators’ upgraded technology has greatly reduced greenhouse emissions. Now therefore be it resolved that Administration report on the feasibility of using incineration as part of the City of Cornwall’s waste management strategies.
